David Gray

Managing Director

David joined Raymond James in April 2012 following the firm’s acquisition of Morgan Keegan. David serves as managing director and is manager of Raymond James’ Atlanta public finance office. David served as lead banker for the Greenville County (SC) Hospitality Tax COPs, Series 2008 issue and Series 2014 refunding issue. While at his prior firm, he also served as senior manager for two Installment Purchase Revenue Bond issues, Series 2004 and 2005, for the Charleston Educational Excellence Financing Corporation to benefit the Charleston County School District. Most recently, he served Spartanburg County on its 2016 Hospitality Certificates of Participation and 2016 Public Works Bonds transactions. David’s other significant South Carolina public finance experience includes several utility revenue bond financings for the City of Spartanburg and for the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. David began his public finance career in 1977 with White Weld & Company. From 1985 to 2008, his track-record of service to public finance clients in the Southeast with Citigroup and its predecessor organizations is one of consistent market leadership in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. From 1996 to 2001, David served as manager of the Robinson-Humphrey Company public finance department and member of its Board of Directors. David received his M.B.A. from the University of Georgia and his B.A. in English from the University of Virginia. David holds the Series 7, Series 50, Series 53, and Series 63 securities licenses.
